THUNDER

I sit in my silence, in my lonely hour

Where the sounds of my thoughts are as loud as crackers

I feel the flow of air around me as I press my fingers to the typing board

Outside my window lies the sweet smell of petrichor

It dances in to greet me.

I see the rain droplets crash against the pane

I see them stroll down towards the walls

I hear the crackling of the thunder

The wail and snap of the elements

The hum of the gods…

I think to myself what a magnificent sound

Mother Nature never ceases to display her power

From rising tides to cloud formation, plants and animals, leaves to trees

And all else that lies in-between.

Today it’s the mighty thunder that captures me

It comes and reminds me how small I am

And how great creation and life itself is !
